Ricky Brabec is now even closer to winning the Dakar for the second time. This Wednesday he was the winner of the tenth stage, now having a 10m54s lead over Ross Branch (Hero MotoSports) in the overall lead.
In an interview with the event’s official website, the American from Monster Energy Honda commented: ‘At the refueling, Ross was putting on a show for us. However, we don’t know what happened. At the refueling, he kind of left a little early. I don’t know what was going on, what he was trying to do. Adrien and I did a good job and I’m happy to be at the end of the tenth stage. There are two days left, the team looks really strong and right now I’m at 100 percent’.
Brabec’s goal is to distance himself even further in the next stage, so that he has a more relaxed last day: ‘Tomorrow, in the long stage, with rocks, I will use some energy and try to secure a little more so that the 12th stage is a bit more relaxed for me and I can do wheelies all the way to the finish line,’ he said.
