Jack Miller made his debut this year at Red Bull KTM after several seasons with Ducati in MotoGP. It was far from being his best season of his career, finishing in 11th place, but even having to adapt to a new bike and a new team, he managed to get a podium and be frequently among the top ten. However, he was not satisfied with his performance.
The Australian rated himself a 5 out of 10 for this year’s season and explained to the website SPEEDWEEK.com the reason: ‘Because I wanted more. As a rider, you always want more, as long as you don’t win every race. We did some things well, but there are some areas where I would have liked to do better‘.
Asked about what prevented him from doing better in those areas, Miller said: ‘Because I set my goals too high… a change of manufacturer, a different bike, plus the competition is so strong – several factors play a role, but as a rider, you always set the highest goal‘.
That being said, #43 ensured that there are reasons to be satisfied and even surprised: ‘In some areas, I am satisfied with what we have achieved. I think we were able to impress some people, sometimes even myself, in terms of how I was able to adapt to this new bike, how we worked together with the team, and the results we achieved‘.
