David Alonso is one of the names that could make headlines in the near future. After being named rookie of the year this season in 2023, the young Hispanic-Colombian shows ambition on and off the track.
‘I would define the year 2023 as a dream. My goal for 2024 is to win the Moto3 World Championship,’ Alonso began, in a kind of quiz promoted by Marca newspaper.
‘My idol is Marc Márquez. My main technical skill on the bike is braking, and my main abilities are keeping calm and being cool-headed. I’m a pretty calm guy. Besides riding motorcycles, I enjoy skiing. I started skiing before motorcycles, at the age of four, and started riding motorcycles at five. I always try to go to Andorra, skiing combines speed, which I love the most, adrenaline, and nature, which is something I really like, the mountains. After motorcycles, it’s the sport that helps me disconnect the most,’ he added.
‘In the short term, my dream is to be the Moto3 World Champion. In the long term, it’s to reach MotoGP, a kind of global dream,’ concluded the rider who won four races in the Moto3 World Championship in 2023.
