David Alonso is one of the names that could make headlines in the near future. After being named Rookie of the Year this season in 2023, the young Hispanic-Colombian shows ambition both on and off the track.
‘I would define the year 2023 as a dream. My goal for 2024 is to win the Moto3 world championship,’ Alonso began, in a sort of quiz promoted by the newspaper Marca.
‘My idol is Marc Márquez. My main technical quality on the bike is braking, and my main skills are keeping calm and maintaining composure. I am a very calm guy. Besides riding motorcycles, I enjoy skiing, it fascinates me. I started skiing before motorcycles, at the age of four, and started riding a motorcycle at five. I always try to go to Andorra, in skiing you mix speed, which I love the most, adrenaline, and nature, which is something I really enjoy, the mountains. After motorcycles, it is the sport that helps me disconnect the most,’ he added.
‘In the short term, my dream is to be the Moto3 world champion. In the long term, it is to reach MotoGP, a sort of global dream,’ concluded the rider who won four races in the Moto3 world championship in 2023.
