Marco Bezzecchi already looks towards 2024, now with more kilometers of experience and a lot of ambition.
‘Like all riders, I dream big, but I have also learned to keep my feet firmly on the ground. At the end of the winter tests, I want to draw a line and realistically define my goals for 2024,’ he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Next year, Bezzecchi will have Fabio Di Giannantonio as a teammate and admitted that he was surprised by Luca Marini’s departure to Repsol Honda.
‘Before signing the contract with VR46, I honestly didn’t know that Luca would move to Honda, also because I know it was a last-minute decision. That being said, I maintain the same enthusiasm I had when I signed my contract with Vale’s team. I always got along well with Luca and it will be strange not to see him in the boxes, as we also had the same setup for years. Undoubtedly, Luca made the best decision for his career and I think he did well,’ Bezzecchi said.
‘It was a decision made with the heart, but I won’t hide that I thought a lot about what I was going to do. Nowadays, MotoGP doesn’t have an easy environment and you can’t afford to choose the wrong path. I am happy to be where I am because I always have the habit of giving my best and the conditions must be provided to do so: the VR46 team can give me the conditions to ride giving 100%,’ he declared.
