Jorge Prado achieved his first MXGP World Championship title in 2023 in the premier class of motocross. He became the first Spanish rider to accomplish this, after several years of hard work to reach this level.
In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Red Bull GasGas rider Jorge Prado talked about this achievement – which was the main goal of the past season – and revealed the sensations he had in the first moments:
– I didn’t know I was the world champion when I crossed the finish line. It was written on the board, but I was so focused on the race that I didn’t pay attention. Then I saw all the people at the circuit and I knew I had done it. It was a mix of emotions. You only realize the work behind a goal when you achieve it.
