Álex Rins had a very complicated 2023, suffering serious leg injuries in June at the Italian GP that kept him off the MotoGP tracks for several months. Before that, he had won the Americas GP, his third race for LCR Honda.
However, it was after returning from injury that the Spaniard had a particularly special performance for himself – when he finished 9th in the Indonesian GP: ‘In October, I had one of the races I am most proud of! Finishing in the top ten in such a difficult race was incredible, but I also had huge disappointments in Japan and Australia, where I wasn’t able to reach the second day,’ he recalled on social media.
But the highlight of Rins’ 2023 season was the triumph in Austin, which the rider now remembered like this: ‘What can I say? I love Austin and it was wonderful to give this team and the manufacturer a well-deserved victory after so many days.’
