After just one season with Tech3, Raúl Fernández joined RNF last year for what was his second season in MotoGP. For this reason, he had to adapt again to a different team and a different bike, in a task made difficult not only by the introduction of the Sprint race format, but also by a compartmental syndrome problem.
For this reason, the first months of 2023 were arduous for the Spaniard, before there was notable progress, as he said on Adriianef’s Twitch channel: ‘It started to accumulate and in the second part of the year we showed that the level had really arrived. Day by day we were very consistent and above all I started to enjoy the bike again, things were coming out. I had an extraordinary human team behind me, tireless, I am super grateful to all of them for never stopping believing’.
Now, in 2024, by staying with Trackhouse Racing, which is the direct successor to RNF, Fernández will have a stability he has never had before, emphasizing the importance of this: ‘For the next season it will be something beautiful because I will start with a base, with the same team, with the same bike, I think I had never done this in my sports career. It will be the first year that I spend two consecutive years with the same people, with the same brand, and in the same category. This is also important to me’.
