After standing out in motocross, Gautier Paulin is now venturing into rally-raid by participating in the Africa Eco Race 2024… but in a car. The race started yesterday in Morocco.
The pilot is driving an Apache APH-01, now competing on four wheels. The Frenchman proves to be multifaceted: as a teenager, he was with BMW and, between 2007 and 2020, he competed in the MXGP Motocross World Championships. In the premier class, he was a factory rider for Honda and Yamaha, finishing as runner-up in 2015.
After ending his career at the end of 2020, Paulin became involved as a coach in the French team at last year’s Motocross of Nations. Now, he competes in the Africa Eco Race with a hybrid Apache APH-01 integrated in the SSV category. It has a Peugeot electric and internal combustion engine, presenting itself as the most advanced T3 prototype ever.
