Currently, Aprilia is the only factory team in MotoGP that does not have a main sponsor. Among more or less old connections, Ducati, Honda, KTM and Yamaha all have a sponsor that gives part of the name to their official teams, unlike the Noale constructor.
A situation that Aprilia Racing’s CEO, Massimo Rivola, has difficulty understanding, as he stated to SPEEDWEEK.com – emphasizing that a main sponsor would be a good help: ‘I have not found a main sponsor and it is difficult for me to understand. In the last two years, we have gained a lot of visibility […]. Our image is very good and it is good to see a huge Aprilia logo to remind everyone that it is an Aprilia, but I would also like to put a different name on it if they are spending a lot of money on it. That would help us grow’.
Despite the current support, the executive made it clear that sponsorships need to be found: ‘We can count on the full support of the Piaggio Group and I have to say that it is thanks to them that we have reached this point. But now it’s time for us to find money. This is an area where I am not personally good. But the best way to improve is to continue working hard, extract performance from the bike and knock on the right doors at the right time’.
