The Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Horwin is preparing to enter the American market. Next week, it will be among the exhibitors at CES in Las Vegas, the famous Consumer Electronics Show that gives us an idea of the most innovative and technological products each year, scheduled for January 9-12, 2024.
On display at Horwin will be the Senmenti 0, an electric maxi scooter that we saw in its final form at EICMA 2023 and included it among the most innovative products at the fair. It is said to have a 16.2 kWh battery for a range of 300 km that can be charged to 80% in 30 minutes, as well as a 0-100 acceleration of 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 200 km/h. The price in the US will be $16,800, while, for comparison, in Europe it is expected to arrive in the second half of the year at €14,900 plus VAT.
Therefore, we can already talk about an important value, but not absurd, considering the level of technology used and the promised performance. For the first 500 American customers who make a reservation, Horwin will offer three years of free charging, lifelong OTA updates with a deposit of only $100. We will see what happens here in Europe.
Externally, the headquarters will be – obviously – in California, although the city has not been specified yet, while the goal is clear: to focus on high-quality products. Horwin’s founder and CEO, Zhou Wei, spoke with Moto.it during EICMA and obviously expressed great enthusiasm for the brand’s expansion in the American market. At CES in Las Vegas, they will certainly also showcase the two concepts that we were fortunate to see at EICMA, namely the Senmenti X and the Senmenti 11, which show us how the Chinese company is positioning itself as a highly innovative brand that also innovates.
