Alarming signs for Jorge Martín after MotoGP tests in Qatar. The Pramac rider had many difficulties in the Sprint race simulation on the last day, admitting that he still doesn’t have a solution to the problems. It is worth remembering that Losail will host the Qatar GP that kicks off the season and was already very difficult for Martín in 2023.
The Spaniard told DAZN: ‘The truth is that I felt good all day, I was very comfortable and well prepared for the competition weekend. But when I put on the last tire to do the Sprint simulation, I started having problems. I had already experienced some vibration issues during this test, and we don’t know why. And we don’t have a solution.’
The Spaniard admitted that there is room for improvement, as something is wrong with his bike: ‘Something is not working well, I can’t ride the way I want; especially when accelerating, the vibrations are very noticeable. And the simulation was a disaster. I tried to hold on, the pace was nothing out of this world – better than the first day, but far from Pecco [Bagnaia]. I crashed entering turn 14. We have to improve especially in acceleration because we have a lot of vibration and it certainly damages the tire more. Nothing is working at the moment.’
