For the second time in five days, Alessandro Botturi was the fastest in the Africa Eco Race, this time in the fifth stage. However, Jacopo Cerutti maintains the lead in the standings.
There were 450.82km timed between Fort Chacal and Dakhla, in Morocco. Botturi led a Yamaha Ténéré World Raid Team one-two by beating teammate Pol Tarres by 2m17s. In third place was Cerutti (Aprilia Racing GCorse) at 4m57s, followed by Alexandre Vaudan (Casteu Trophy/KTM) and Francesco Montanari (Aprilia Racing GCorse) in the top five.
In the overall standings, the top positions remain the same. Cerutti continues to lead, now only 2m15s ahead of Botturi who regained second place over Tarres. Guillaume Borne (Casteu Trophy/Husqvarna), who is competing in his home country this week, remains in fifth place ahead of Giovanni Gritti (RSMoto Racing Team Honda Oil).
