Radar technology is making its way to more and more motorcycles, but it is still not widespread. Garmin now offers an innovative solution to bring this technology to more motorcyclists.
The new zūmo R1 Radar is the first radar system specifically designed for motorcycles, providing rearview and blind spot detection.
The device, robust and discreet, includes side-facing two amber lights and an optional red light facing backward, which helps maximize the visibility of the motorcycle. Indicators on the handlebars highlight the presence of approaching vehicles.
The set includes a radar screen, sound alerts when other vehicles are approaching (requiring a compatible helmet or earphones and connection via the zūmo Radar app), and adjustment of settings through the app.
No changes or any kind of batteries are required for installation. The radar is discreetly mounted above or below the license plate. The retail price is $599.99 (582.54 euros).
