The Suzuki GSX-S1000GX may have just been released, but a new variant of the “crossover” has been announced, according to VisorDown.
In the form of the Suzuki GSX-S1000GX+, this new version comes with panniers as standard for the GX model. In this way, the GX+ is to the GX what the GSX-S1000GT+ was to the normal GT when it was launched last year.
Suzuki claims that choosing the GX+ will allow customers to save compared to buying the standard GX and buying and installing the panniers separately. It also works better for those who finance the bike, as the extra cost can be divided between the deposit and monthly payments.
The panniers have the same color as the bike, offer 36 liters of storage space each, and have a shape that allows for a full-face helmet to be placed in each pannier.
It is the aforementioned Suzuki GSX-S1000GT from which the GX, and now the GX+, derives, including the charming and archaic K5 engine. But the GX marked a first step for Suzuki when it was launched in November last year as the first bike from the Hamamatsu brand to use semi-active suspension.
In addition to the panniers, the specifications of the GX+ are identical to the standard model, which means 152 horsepower at 11,000 rpm from the aforementioned 999cc K5 engine, electronics supported by a six-axis Bosch instant measurement unit, a 6.5-inch color TFT display, and the new semi-active suspension from Suzuki, courtesy of Showa.
There is still no official confirmation that this model will be available in the national market. We will keep an eye out for all the news from the Japanese brand.
