Adrien van Beveren was the winner of stage nine of Dakar 2024, but he had far from an easy Tuesday. The Monster Energy Honda rider opened a large part of the special, but still beat teammate Ricky Brabec by 32 seconds. In the overall standings, he is in third place, now 11m26s behind the leader.
In an interview with the official event website, the Frenchman spoke about the difficulties he faced, but assured that he gave his best without any regrets:
– It was a tough day, but a good one. I ended up opening almost 400km of the stage. Kevin [Benavides] was following and was a good support to check at times. Today was really very difficult. I did my best, I tried to be consistent and I think it was a good stage. I gave everything, I have no regrets about today.
