The debut in MotoGP World Championship will be much more than just adapting to the bike and the team for Pedro Acosta. On another level, the rider is aware of the physical work he has to do in order to be competitive in the premier category.
The rookie admitted at an event, quoted by Sport.es, that he is not having an easy winter in terms of preparation, as he needs to work on his physique when he has a stature much shorter than some of the rivals he will face:
– The pre-season is being complicated, because we finished the Moto2 World Championship at the end of November and on January 28th we will go to Malaysia to compete in the first MotoGP race. I am focusing on my physical condition because genetically I have always been thin, a bit short, while other riders like [Jorge] Martín, Brad Binder and Jack Miller are tall from the waist up and I have to improve in that aspect to be at their level. And in that sense, I have to work on the upper part.
