Jett Lawrence, from Team Honda HRC, made history at the highly anticipated opening of the 50th anniversary season of AMA Supercross, becoming the first rookie to win in his debut in the premier class, while his brother Hunter didn’t have the best luck, missing out on the main event of the night.
In a statement from the Honda team, it can be read, with a note highlighting both riders:
The Anaheim 1 Supercross wasn’t as kind to Hunter Lawrence, as a series of misfortunes prevented him from advancing to the main event, but he is determined to come back strong next week to show his true potential in San Francisco.
Jett started strong in the 450SX main event, with an impressive holeshot aboard his CRF450RWE. The 20-year-old Australian sensation led every lap with his smooth and controlled style, managing the gap to the riders behind him perfectly and crossing the finish line with a margin of 7 seconds. […].
