Despite praising Honda and even saying that it could be a possibility for the future, Jorge Martín is very clear about where he wants to be in 2025: nothing less than the official Ducati team, but he issued a warning.
Second in the world championship in 2023, after fighting until the last race of the season with Pecco Bagnaia, Martín stood out again but was overlooked once again for the factory seat, as Enea Bastianini had his place confirmed for 2024, a vote of confidence from Ducati after a very complicated season for the Italian, full of injuries.
In statements to AS, Martín clarified his desire for the next season: ‘My priority one hundred percent for 2025 is an official team. My goal is the official Ducati team, because it is the factory where I am, I know the bike and I have a lot of projection in this factory.’
And not only that, but #89 clearly stated what he could do if things didn’t go as he wanted, even hinting at the possibility of leaving Ducati for good: ‘But if they don’t want me or understand that I’m not the best, I will look for something else.’
