The Indian experts in low-displacement motorcycles, Hero MotoCorp, have confirmed an expansion into Europe in 2024, in partnership with the well-established MotoGB as their distribution partners.
“We already have the manufacturing base. We have the volume. We have distributors in Europe and there is a gap in the customers’ needs,” said Hero’s CEO, Niranjan Gupta, in an exclusive interview with MCN.
The Delhi-based company has been building motorcycles since 1985, having already delivered over 110 million machines to customers in more than 40 countries. They have also worked with Harley-Davidson to develop the 440cc single-cylinder X440 cruiser, to help the American brand enter more emerging markets.
“It also allows us to experiment with products with more features, simply because developed markets like Europe and the UK will have customers with higher purchasing power,” Niranjan Gupta continued.
“Now, when customers have higher purchasing power, it is possible to experiment with bolder and more innovative features and see how they are received.”
“Therefore, they will also become markets where we can experiment with this type of things, as we know that in Asian markets there will be very few buyers if things become too expensive.”
