The TRK 502 was, and to some extent still is, the queen of the touring motorcycle market. A clever and intelligent bike that, with the favor of the public, and with many seductive features such as price and excellent perception of “substance”, is capable of satisfying many of the primary needs of a market that “does the math”. Based on this success and with the awareness that those who stop are lost, the company has developed, somewhat discreetly, the heir to all this. It will be called, or rather, it is called, since the new bike is already circulating in Chinese territory, TRK 552.
To remain in the market segment intended for holders of an A2 driving license, the engine will remain within the threshold of 48 hp, but, thanks mainly to an increase in displacement to about 550 cc, there will be more torque for the benefit of driving sensations and also to support compliance with increasingly stringent anti-pollution regulations, which often require the motorcyclist to increase the displacement in order to continue to comply with them without compromising performance.
From what we know so far, the rest of the evolution concerns aesthetics, a slightly evolved but still in line with the classic line of this model, and we can expect the two classic versions, the X with a 19″ front and the standard with 17″. Finally, the question: when in Portugal? For now, there is no official answer, but we will probably have to wait for an official presentation, perhaps after the summer, and subsequent commercialization in the first months of 2025, of course, it’s just speculation.
