Rui Gonçalves once again proved to be the best Portuguese in this stage of the Dakar, the ninth, finishing the day in 11th place. The Sherco rider talked about his day and regretted a mistake that ‘ended up affecting’ the final result.
‘P11 today with 435km, a very fast stage on sandy tracks and some rocky areas mixed in… I felt good right from the start but before the refueling, I lost a lot of time looking for a waypoint that wouldn’t validate, and then I had to make up for it. I managed to maintain a good pace for the rest of the stage, but that mistake ended up affecting the result,’ the Portuguese rider announced on social media before revealing his wishes for the final days of the competition:
– Still, it was a positive day because I feel very good physically and my Sherco has been performing well. We will stay focused until the end. Thank you all for the support.
