The penultimate stage of the 2024 Dakar arrived this Thursday, with António Maio being the best Portuguese representative on the track. Already without Rui Gonçalves (Sherco Rally Factory), after abandonment, Maio consolidated his position in the competition as the best among the national “armada” in Saudi Arabia.
Maio (Drag’on Rally Team/Yamaha) took 5h42m31s to complete today’s 420km, which meant the 27th position, and was followed by Bruno Santos (XRaids Experience/Husqvarna), in 30th, one place ahead of Mário Patrão (Crédito Agrícola mariopatrao.com/Honda).
There is still no data on the completion of the stage by *Alexandre Azinhais (Club Aventura Touareg/KTM).
Thus, looking at the overall classification, Maio maintained the 18th position overall, Santos gained one position and is now 28th.
