After a very tough season in 2023, which ended with the title in the hands of Pecco Bagnaia, Jorge Martín had a very tough start to the 2024 calendar year, but he gradually gained confidence, to the point where, he said, he was able to believe in himself and his chances of winning the title. And if he didn’t… he might as well stay at home.
The Spaniard was present at the 2024 edition of the Ducati Campioni in Festa, where he recalled the feeling of being the owner of the world title: ‘Being champion is extraordinary […]. I thank life for this opportunity, I’m privileged, it’s a privilege to be in this position’.
In order to win the title, there were many who were by the #89’s side:’ ‘Little by little I’m becoming aware of what happened. I have to thank my family, the team, everyone who was involved in what happened’.
Asked if he thought he could win at the start of the season, Martín recalled the words of Gigi Dall’Igna, Managing Director of Ducati Corse: ‘Yes, obviously. As Dall’Igna said, if you start a season without thinking you can win, you might as well stay at home. From the start of the season I thought I could’.
