Francesco Bagnaia enters the new MotoGP season defending the title for the second consecutive year. Nevertheless, he expects even greater competition, after having become champion only in the last round in the last two seasons.
During the Ducati presentation in Madonna di Campiglio, the two-time world champion of the premier class spoke about the positive impressions he had during the November test in Valencia: ‘In Valencia, which is a track where you can’t make much of a difference, in certain aspects we immediately felt the difference, which fortunately is positive. So, I was very happy. Two days before, I had become champion, but it was a very positive testing day‘.
Regarding expectations for the new season, Bagnaia stated: ‘The level will always continue to rise. The fact that there are eight Ducatis on the track is advantageous, but in certain situations it can also be disadvantageous. And I think all the other teams have taken a step forward. Last year, KTM and Aprilia improved a lot, and I believe Honda and Yamaha will also take a step forward. The competition, or the opponents, even within Ducati, will be tough‘.
