The agreement between the Loncin group, to which Voge belongs, and BMW will yield a third fruit this spring: the 900DSX. An adventure trail powered by an inline twin-cylinder engine, with 895 cc and 94 hp, with many ingredients that could make it a highly desired machine: attractive aesthetics, great size, high-performance engine, advanced equipment, electronic aids, top brand components, and an extremely competitive price!
The Loncin group, to which Voge belongs, gained the trust of the German brand BMW as a technological partner since 2005, due to its high manufacturing quality standards, first producing the 650 cc single-cylinder engine used in the Voge 650DS/650DSX models. Then, in 2015, it took charge of the complete manufacturing of the C400 scooter, which served as the basis for the Voge SR4 Max, and, more recently, the range of inline twin-cylinder engines from the Bavarian brand. It was precisely this last joint project that allowed Voge to produce the largest displacement model in its range: the 900DSX.
The new flagship model from Voge, unveiled at the EICMA Milan Motorcycle Show last November, features a very attractive design, in line with the great adventure trails, characterized by a front with a “duck beak”, an aggressive dual LED headlight and a windshield that can be easily manually adjusted without tools in two positions. The design continues with a muscular fuel tank and a low riding position, with the seat only 825 mm from the ground, allowing easy access for most users.
In its off-road vocation, the Voge 900DSX stands out for its side protections, engine guard, hand guards, high-mounted exhaust with a silencer, and spoked wheels for tubeless tires, with 21 inches at the front and 17 inches at the rear. As for the passenger, there is a higher seat than the rider’s and a luggage rack with side handles for grip.
This model features a liquid-cooled inline twin-cylinder engine, with dual overhead camshafts and 4 valves per cylinder, with a high compression ratio of 13:1, a balance shaft to reduce vibrations, a 270-degree crankshaft offset, forged pistons for high durability, and fuel injection management developed by Bosch. The engine delivers a maximum power of 70 kW (94 hp) at 8,250 rpm, and can also be limited to 35 kW for A2 license holders. The engine is equipped with a slipper clutch and a standard bidirectional quickshifter.
The frame uses a perimeter steel structure, with the engine being a structural element, and a tubular subframe also made of steel. Attached to it is an asymmetrical cast aluminum swingarm. As is traditional in Voge models, components from top brands are used. The suspension features elements supplied by the Japanese brand Kayaba: an inverted fork at the front with 43mm stanchions and a travel of 194mm, adjustable for preload and hydraulic damping, while at the rear a progressive linkage mono-shock from the same brand is used, providing a travel of 198mm, also adjustable for preload and hydraulic damping. The braking system is entrusted to the prestigious brand Brembo, with a double floating front disc with a diameter of 305mm and two-piston calipers, and a single-piston rear disc of 265mm. The braking system is further enhanced by a dual-channel ABS modulator. As for the tires, Voge has chosen the excellent Pirelli Scorpion Rally as the footwear for its golden tubeless spoked wheels, allowing for mixed road-off-road use with high grip on all types of surfaces.
In terms of electronic safety equipment, in addition to ABS, there is a TCS traction control, both of which can be disconnected for off-road use. On the road, we find the LCS system, which helps the user change lanes by indicating the presence of other vehicles behind through a light on the rearview mirror. Tire pressure is monitored and on the highway, the CCS cruise control becomes very useful, maintaining a constant speed.
The electronic throttle control through Ride-by-Wire allows for four different driving modes: rain, economy, sport, and off-road. The instrument panel is based on a large 7-inch high-resolution TFT color screen, with different displays and a lot of information arranged for quick reference. The screen also has connectivity with the mobile phone, allowing for call management and message reception, as well as simplified Turn-by-Turn navigation. It also includes a 1080p HD front camera for recording journeys. To complete the electronic lineup, there is a Keyless electronic key by proximity.
The Voge 900DSX also incorporates heated seats and grips, adjustable at different intensities, and USB power outlets at 5V or 12V cigarette lighters. Optionally, you can complete the 900DSX with original aluminum side cases and top case, with the respective mounts, at a promotional price.
The Voge 900DSX will be available at all Voge Iberia sales points in two colors; Lime Green and Blue Aviator, at a launch price of €8,888 during Spring this year, with an extended warranty of 5 years, as is the case with all Voge range models, without any additional procedures. And of course, as soon as we have the opportunity, we will test this Voge for all of you in our digital magazine!
