This week, preparations for the 2025 Moto3 World Championship season began in Jerez, with José Antonio Rueda setting the fastest lap.
The two-day private test at the Andalusian circuit featured only a selection of riders from the category. On the first day, rookie Álvaro Carpe (Red Bull KTM Ajo) set the pace with a lap time of 1m45.520s, beating Ángel Piqueras (MT Helmets-MSi/KTM) by 0.252s. Máximo Quiles (CFMOTO Aspar/KTM), another rookie for 2025, followed in third.
The fastest times, however, were recorded on the second day, when the top riders broke into the 1m44s. Rueda (Red Bull KTM Ajo), an experienced contender in the category, posted the quickest lap with a 1m44.412s.
Carpe maintained his strong form, finishing second, 0.320s behind Rueda, with Quiles in third and Piqueras in fourth. Scott Ogden (CIP Green Power), riding a KTM for the first time, rounded out the top five overall across the two days.
