Harley-Davidson presented today four new motorcycle models for 2024 that mark the beginning of a new era of performance, technology, and touring design. The new Street Glide and Road Glide, equipped with the new Milwaukee-Eight 117 engine, are more powerful, comfortable, and lightweight and are equipped with advanced technology, including a new infotainment system, all in a new and bold visual design. Celebrating the 25th anniversary of Custom Vehicle Operations, the new CVO Road Glide ST takes the performance of hot-rod baggers to another level with competition-inspired high-performance suspensions and brakes, a powerful new Milwaukee-Eight 121 HO engine, and a low final drive ratio that combine to produce the type of acceleration and mid-range thrust that more energetic riders desire. And the new CVO Pan America debuts as the first CVO in the Adventure Touring segment, ready to face any adventure with a complete standard equipment and exclusive custom paints and finishes.
Each of these 2024 models is scheduled to arrive at authorized Harley-Davidson dealerships in March 2024.
New Street Glide and Road Glide 2024
The 2024 Street Glide and Road Glide models are more powerful, lightweight, and dynamic and feature completely new visual design elements that combine a cohesive dynamic flow from the front fender to the saddlebags. Both models feature an evolved fairing profile, refreshingly modern, yet retaining the Harley-Davidson design DNA that makes them instantly familiar.
The main features include:
– An upgraded Milwaukee-Eight 117 V-Twin engine features a new cooling system that further optimizes rider thermal comfort and improves intake and exhaust flow for increased performance.
– Selectable Riding Modes – Road, Sport, Rain, and Custom – electronically control the motorcycle’s performance characteristics.
– The infotainment technology is powered by the Skyline™ operating system and displayed on a 12.3-inch color touch screen TFT display that replaces all analog instrumentation and most switches. A new 200-watt audio amplifier powers a pair of fairing-mounted speakers.
– Enhanced aerodynamics increase rider comfort and reduce helmet buffeting, on average, by about 60% at highway speeds. The rear suspension travel has been increased to 76mm. The redesigned one-piece seat shape and cushioning materials provide a significant improvement in long-haul comfort for the rider.
The new CVO Road Glide ST leads the 2024 CVO lineup
The CVO Road Glide ST is the fastest and most sophisticated performance bagger ever produced by Harley-Davidson and represents a unique collection of components that provide high value to performance-oriented riders. A deep solo seat and a six-inch riser combined with the handlebar position the rider in an upright and energetic stance with West Coast custom style.
Key features include:
– Two premium paint options: Golden White Pearl or Raven Metallic. The Screamin’ Eagle graphic on the fairing sides and fuel tank is inspired by the Screamin’ Eagle Harley-Davidson Factory bikes used in the MotoAmerica Mission King of the Baggers competition. The CVO 25th anniversary graphics celebrate a milestone in factory customization.
– The Milwaukee-Eight 121 High Output V-Twin engine is exclusive to the CVO Road Glide ST and produces 127 horsepower (94 kW) and 193 Nm of torque – the highest power and torque values ever in a factory-installed engine on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. A low final drive ratio has been chosen to improve acceleration performance at all gear speeds.
– The use of alternative materials helps reduce the dry weight to 363 kg. The mufflers feature lightweight titanium casings and forged carbon fiber tips. Forged carbon fiber composite has been used in the front fender, seat cover, and tank console, while the engine casing is made of a lightweight composite. The wheel design and wave-profiled front brake discs have been optimized to minimize unsprung weight.
– The fully adjustable front and rear suspensions include SHOWA rear shock absorbers with remote reservoirs and 47 mm inverted SHOWA 1×1 forks.
– Premium Brembo braking components provide excellent braking feel and performance for increased rider confidence.
– Selectable Riding Modes – Road, Sport, Track, Track Plus, Rain, and different Custom modes – electronically control the motorcycle’s performance characteristics.
– An infotainment technology package is powered by the Skyline operating system. A color touchscreen display replaces all analog instrumentation and most switches. The premium audio system features a 500-watt amplifier and 6.5-inch fairing speakers Harley-Davidson Audio powered by Rockford Fosgate Stage II.
The CVO Pan America is a new discovery vehicle and the first adventure touring (ADV) motorcycle from the CVO program. All the features that made the Pan America 1250 Special the choice among the most demanding Adventure Touring riders are maintained, including the smooth and powerful Revolution Max 1250 engine, the semi-active front and rear suspension, the touch screen display, the selectable riding modes, and the Daymaker Adaptive Headlamp technology. The CVO Pan America is equipped with a range of robust accessories selected to enhance the journey, including Adaptive Ride Height suspension, rugged aluminum side and top cases, a Screamin’ Eagle quick shifter, tubeless laced wheels, LED auxiliary front lighting, and an aluminum skid plate.
In 2023, the CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide models introduced a bold new design direction for the Harley-Davidson Grand American Touring platform, the performance of the Milwaukee-Eight VVT 121 engine, advanced suspension, and infotainment technology powered by the exclusive Skyline operating system.
