Michael van der Mark starts another season in the World Superbike Championship with BMW. So far, his journey has been heavily marked by injuries, something that happened again last year, but that doesn’t stop him from pursuing the team’s high ambitions.
Quoted on the official championship website, the Dutchman emphasized that he is fully committed to the common goal of winning, expressing confidence in the possibilities of achieving it:
– I think we all have a goal at BMW, and that is to win. So, I am making a lot of effort, and BMW is making a lot of effort. I have a lot of confidence in the project. Hiring Toprak [Razgatlioglu], making many changes inside… I have a lot of confidence that we will get there.
Despite BMW investing more and the team having a higher exposure, van der Mark assured that he does not feel any extra pressure: ‘I don’t feel pressure. I love to see that they are making a lot of effort, more and more. It gives me more confidence. The confidence of seeing them making so much effort, I believe it will also make me faster‘.
