Honda has introduced updates to the XL750 Transalp for 2025. Originally launched in 1986 – nearly 40 years ago – the Transalp family was revitalized last year and now joins the Adventure range.
Designed for long touring journeys while being adept in urban settings, the bike features a compact and lightweight 755cc twin-cylinder engine delivering 67.5 kW (90.5 hp) at 9,500 rpm and 75 Nm of torque at 7,250 rpm. It is a new design without a gear-driven balancer shaft. A 35 kW version, compliant with A2 licenses, will also be available. The transmission is a six-speed manual.
The Transalp offers four riding modes – Sport, Standard, Rain, and Gravel – lus a customizable User mode. Engine power can be adjusted across four levels, with three levels of engine braking effect. The HSTC traction control system has five levels and integrates wheelie control. In User mode, ABS can be disabled on the rear wheel for off-road riding.
The bike’s diamond-type lightweight steel frame supports a Showa SFF-CA inverted fork, with separate functions and adjustable spring preload. The rear features a Showa remote-reservoir shock, adjustable for preload, operating through a Pro-Link system and an exclusive aluminum swingarm.
The braking system includes dual front wave discs with two-piston calipers and a rear wave disc with a single-piston caliper. The spoked wheels measure 21 inches at the front and 18 inches at the rear, with tire options of Metzeler Karoo Street or Dunlop Mixtour.
The bike boasts a 5-inch TFT color display for instrumentation, offering smartphone connectivity through Honda RoadSync. With a helmet headset and microphone, riders can use Bluetooth to make calls or listen to music. The rear indicators feature an Emergency Stop Signal function, while the front indicators now include auto-canceling.
In terms of design, the front end is redesigned, resembling the Africa Twin, with a new dual-projector LED headlight unit and an updated windshield profile to reduce helmet turbulence (a taller windshield is available as an optional accessory). The seat is low for the class at 850 mm, with an optional 820 mm version. Standard features include a rear luggage rack and a USB port under the seat.
