New team in name and leadership but everything will remain the same in the garage, and that’s good. That’s how Raúl Fernández sees the year 2024, where he will have greater stability in his career as a pilot for the first time.
The pilot spoke about it at the team’s presentation to the fans: ‘We will keep the same team: the same mechanics and engineering chiefs, and that’s something good. We will arrive in the garage wearing our suits and we will see the same faces, which is very good for us, because it’s the second year with the same people and that’s something positive, especially in my case because it’s the first time in my career that I will have two years with the same people’.
About his new team, Fernández admits that it is too early to have a formed opinion, but he guaranteed that the enthusiasm shown by the project was contagious:
– Honestly, it was a big surprise for me when they were in Madrid, where we had a meeting at the end of last year. When I spoke with them, the feelings were very good and I was impressed with them. Their mentality is impressive and we took a big step forward in that aspect at the end of last year’s championship. They are very professional, but honestly, I can’t say anything more now. Maybe after one or two races, I can have a true impression from them.
