Trevor Motorcycles, a Belgian specialist in electric motorcycles, is eyeing a major expansion in 2024. Having previously succeeded with its impressive DTRe Stella model, the company has a series of launches scheduled for 2024, including a more affordable model called Vince, as well as a high-performance electric motocross model.
When it comes to the company’s market entry approach, Trevor Motorcycles is not exactly following the norm. While other startup companies focus their attention on a strong online presence and e-commerce platforms, Trevor Motorcycles insists on doing things the old-fashioned way. This means it is seeking traditional dealerships worldwide. Of course, this doesn’t mean that Trevor is completely abandoning the online space, as the company does have an intuitive and interactive website.
The Trevor’s goal is quite significant: to create 280 points of sale, with 140 spread across Europe and the UK, and another 140 in the US and Canada. To achieve its expansion goal, particularly in the European market, Trevor Motorcycles has partnered with The Pack. The Pack, led by Guy Salens, has experience in the field of electric mobility, supported by a strong community of electric motorcycle enthusiasts.
As we have mentioned in the past, Trevor Motorcycles aims to innovate urban transportation with its electric two-wheelers. In the case of distribution through dealerships worldwide, the company is eyeing partnerships with motor sports dealers and specialized motorcycle dealerships in extreme and outdoor sports, such as flat track, enduro, motocross, and off-road.
Although the DTRe Stella is indeed a premium offering, the brand is expected to launch the more affordable version of the DTRe Vince in 2024. Trevor’s co-founder, Jeroen-Vincent, explains it as follows: “Vince takes all the beloved features of our Stella and perfects them to create a more affordable option. In the US market, the price will be $8,260 (before taxes), while in Europe it will cost €9,950 (including VAT). Pre-orders are now open for €195.00, with delivery expected in the fall of 2024.”
Although still quite expensive, the Vince undoubtedly makes Trevor’s impressive portfolio more accessible to a wide audience. For reference, it is equipped with a mid-drive motor with a maximum power of 11 kilowatts (about 15 horsepower), which puts it on par with 125cc gasoline-powered motorcycles in terms of performance.
Even more impressively, Trevor Motorcycles has announced that they are currently working on a high-performance electric platform. It is expected that this new platform will give rise to a completely new electric motocross prototype that the company will soon present to the public. Prepared to compete with the Stark Varg and other powerful off-road motorcycles, it is expected that Trevor’s new electric motocross bike will be approved for motocross races in the near future.
