Aerodynamics has gained significant importance in the overall performance of a MotoGP motorcycle in recent years, largely thanks to the various solutions pioneered by Ducati and Gigi Dall’Igna. Nowadays, it is a fundamental aspect that can make the difference between a competitive and uncompetitive bike.
Honda is working on a new aerodynamic package for 2024, and test rider Stefan Bradl commented on the current relevance of this aspect. The German explained to the website SPEEDWEEK.com:
– Aerodynamics in general has an unbelievable effect. It filters the sensation that the rider has on the tires and the asphalt. This changes the feeling you have with your hands on the handlebars, or even on the seat. The effect is clearly noticeable, especially in fast corners. We are talking about a certain area in the fairing, at 150km/h this has a huge effect. Nowadays, aerodynamics are important for everything: higher top speed, better cornering, fewer wheelies.
