The end of the 2023 MotoGP season was not easy for the Aprilia satellite team. RNF seemed to have an uncertain future after all the controversy with CryptoDATA – with speculation intensifying on the sidelines of the last round in Valencia. Miguel Oliveira, injured, was following the situation from home.
After the Valencia round, the acquisition of Justin Marks by Trackhouse Racing was confirmed – ensuring a solid future. The Portuguese rider now recalled what it was like to follow the situation without being present on site: ‘I can’t imagine for the people on track, because I was just trying to catch everything from home. But no one really knew what was going on until everything came out on Monday. So it was a big surprise, but I have to say it was pleasant‘.
According to Oliveira, Marks immediately left him with a positive image of the project, hoping to now repay with results: ‘When we met in Lisbon, I got a very good idea of what he wants in the near future for the team and for the whole project and his brand. And I have to say it’s a good place to be. Hopefully everything goes well in terms of performance for us and rewards us with results. That’s what I hope‘.
