Yamaha has announced updates to the TMAX range of sports scooters for 2025. This line of motorcycles is celebrating 24 years since its launch, during which it has become a benchmark. The TMAX and TMAX Tech MAX will be available starting in March 2025.
The TMAX and TMAX Tech feature a compact and powerful two-cylinder engine, with a displacement of 560 cc and power output of 35 kW, making it suitable for A2 license holders and European urban areas as it meets Euro 5+ standards.
Electronic aids have been improved, including the new Brake Control (BC) system for cornering, originally developed for supersport bikes. This works in conjunction with ABS, minimizing wheel slippage during sudden braking or when grip is low. Brake control is activated by the IMU, and the D-Mode allows the rider to select the engine power character, adapting it to the driving style and traction control.
With a lightweight aluminum dual-beam frame, the TMAX scooter maintains its levels of comfort and ride quality, as well as agility and stability. The front fork is telescopic, and at the rear there is a swingarm. The braking system includes dual front discs and a rear disc.
At the front, there are new dynamic dual headlights, contributing to a simple, new silhouette, along with a redesigned front fairing. The boomerang-shaped side panels remain, as does the side-mounted exhaust with an upward curve, two-person sculpted seat, and sport-style fairing. There are two decoration options: Icon Black and Tech Kamo.
On board, the rider finds a seven-inch TFT display with three possible layouts. Smartphone connectivity is ensured through the MyRide app, allowing for music playback, SMS viewing, and receiving calls and email notifications. It also provides access to ride logs, parking location, fuel consumption, routes taken, and other information. The Garmin Motorize app enables Garmin navigation access, including traffic information, weather updates, and points of interest.
Exclusive features in the TMAX Tech MAX
The TMAX Tech MAX has exclusive features. The electronically adjustable windshield, cruise control, and adjustable rear suspension are some of the distinguishing factors.
There is also a tire pressure monitoring system and, for added riding comfort, heated grips and seat, as well as backlit handlebar switches. Aesthetic upgrades include machined wheels and Ceramic Grey and Dark Magma color options exclusive to the TMAX Tech MAX.
