Diogo Moreira will be one of the new additions in the next Moto2 season. The talent of the young Brazilian has not gone unnoticed by the most attentive eyes and joining the intermediate category is another step, this time representing the Italtrans Racing Team. A few weeks ago, he had an experience he will never forget, having been invited to participate in the 100km dei Campioni organized by Valentino Rossi… although he also takes inspiration from his arch-rival Marc Márquez.
‘The photo with Valentino Rossi turned out beautiful, I’m going to frame it. In that race, I finished second, [Luca] Marini won, and Valentino finished third. I had already been in fifth place in 2021, I couldn’t go in 2022, and this year it was fantastic. The track, the atmosphere, everything that is set up is impressive. It’s like the MotoGP environment, but even more fun. In Spain, there is nothing like it. And training with Valentino Rossi is something else. The track is perfect for training,’ he recalled in an interview with Motosan.es.
During his stay in Italy, the rider took the opportunity to visit the facilities of the new team: ‘I had never been there before, and it’s impressive. It’s very big and we have everything, all the bikes from all the years, materials, trucks… it’s all very beautiful, really. I really like the team and I am very happy. The best part is the desire I have year after year.’
Finally, Moreira revealed who is the figure that inspires him the most in this world of two wheels: ‘I would say it’s Marc Márquez because he’s the one I train with the most. I still have a long way to go to reach Marc’s level, but I follow in his footsteps.’
