Honda has updated its CMX500 Rebel cruiser for 2025. It’s a motorcycle suitable for A2 license holders, now even more comfortable and with enhanced styling for the new year.
Aimed at a younger audience, the CMX500 Rebel was launched in 2017 and has been highly successful. With timeless and classic lines, it managed to become the best-selling custom model in Europe in 2021, 2022, and 2023.
Engine
The 471cc parallel-twin engine remains, but it has been updated with new electronic control unit (ECU) settings and an OBD2-2 exhaust sensor to meet Euro 5+ emissions standards. The PGM-FI fuel injection maps have been revised, as well as the valve and ignition settings. The maximum power of 34 kW is reached at 8,500 rpm, with a torque of 43.3 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The gearbox has six speeds, and the exhaust system is a 2-in-1.
Chassis
The tubular frame has also been updated, supporting the engine in three places. It features an innovative rear handle, separating the thicker seat from the metal fender. There is a bolted cast aluminum subframe, increasing customization possibilities.
At the front, there’s a 41mm fork with upgraded components, and at the rear, a steel tube swingarm with two shock absorbers offering five levels of preload adjustment. The braking system, with dual-channel ABS, consists of a 296mm disc with a two-piston radial Nissin caliper at the front, while at the rear, there is a 240mm disc with a single-piston caliper. The cast aluminum wheels are 16 inches in diameter.
More comfort
The seat height is 690mm, and the footpegs are positioned to ensure a comfortable and natural riding posture. The handlebar position has been revised for added comfort.
The seat now uses a new urethane foam material, and it’s easy to remove the pillion pad and rear footpegs, allowing for solo or passenger use. This also enables the installation of various genuine accessories, such as a rear rack, backrest, tank pads, flyscreen, nylon or leather saddlebags, and more.
The rider will find a negative LCD screen with white backlighting and a very compact speedometer. The ignition lock of the Honda CMX500 Rebel is located on the left side, under the 11.2-liter fuel tank. The lighting is fully LED.
Appearance
With a bobber silhouette and design that emphasizes its agility, the bike features a round front headlight with a glass reminiscent of the custom motorcycle universe. Two colors are available: the new Mat Dim Gray Metallic and Mat Gunpowder Black Metallic.
The S Edition will be available in Mat Gunpowder Black Metallic and the new Candy Energy Orange. This version comes with several factory-fit accessories, such as a headlight cover with a smoked visor, fork covers and retro-style gaiters, or a seat with a special diamond-stitched cover.
