Ducati has been the strongest constructor in MotoGP in recent years and is now paying the price for its success: the new concessions system leaves the Italians quite limited in motorcycle development, unlike their competitors.
Gigi Dall’Igna, General Manager of Ducati Corse, admitted to La Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper that this is a factor that will create additional difficulties, expecting a challenging season where it will be essential to start with greater competitiveness than in recent years:
– It will be a challenging year because the regulations changed at the end of last year. Now we are a bit inferior to our competitors. They will have more concessions and the possibility to develop the motorcycle further during the season. Precisely for this reason, we will have to start the year perhaps with a faster pace than in 2022 and 2023. It will be a significant challenge.
