There are only a few weeks left until Diogo Moreira’s debut season in Moto2 begins. Italtrans Racing Team is the gateway to the intermediate category, after finishing in eighth place in Moto3 twice.
The promising Brazilian spoke to the website Motosan.es about his expectations for 2024, not hiding some ambition: ‘I believe that if I were to win next season, which will be very difficult, I would surely move up to MotoGP. Because if I’m winning in one category, I’m ready for the next. But I think Moto2 will be tough and I want to take it step by step, I don’t want to put pressure on myself with the results‘.
The on-track preparations in official tests only begin in a few weeks, but Moreira has already been working on a production bike, as well as on his physical condition: ‘I have a 600cc bike for training. And the truth is that comparing Moto3 and Moto2, at the end of the straight it’s not as noticeable. It’s noticeable when accelerating, when coming out of corners, that the bike has a lot of power. I weigh very little and in the test in Valencia it ended up lifting me off the bike. It was very complicated, so I had to gain some weight‘.
