Chaz Davies is back in competition. The experienced British rider will be one of the riders of the new MotoE team, Aruba Cloud MotoE Team, alongside Armando Pontone.
Already involved in the Superbike and Supersport World Championships with the official Ducati team, Aruba.it now also opts for MotoE with its brand Aruba Cloud – describing it as a project that “combines the potential of cloud innovation and electric mobility on two wheels”.
At 36 years old, Davies is preparing to return to competition three years after his last season in WSBK – a championship in which he was three times runner-up with Aruba.it Ducati. Pontone, on the other hand, had a discreet passage through Moto3 in 2012 and his biggest achievement is an Italian national SS600 title in 2021.
Stefano Cecconi, CEO of Aruba and team manager of Aruba Cloud MotoE Team, said: “The Aruba Cloud MotoE Team represents in all aspects the synergy of two worlds – technological and sporting – that are united by a commitment to sustainable innovation: the cloud represents the future of information technology, just as electric vehicles and MotoE are the future of the motorsport sector. In fact, MotoE will represent for us a technological showcase where we can experiment and develop Edge Cloud technologies that, in the near future, like electric mobility, can represent a solution to further improve the performance and efficiency of current services, as well as enable the development of new ones.”
