Brad Binder was the fourth classified in the MotoGP World Championship last year, starting the new season with the intention of fighting for the top positions again. And, after the Sepang tests, the rider is confident.
The South African did not hide his pleasure with the improvements that KTM made this winter: ‘Sepang was really good for us. I am very happy with the progress our team has made and all the aspects they brought and all the components they brought really touched areas where we were really looking for some improvements. So, for me it was a really good test and I am ready to start the season. Of course, I am looking forward to going to Qatar next week’.
Regarding where he considers progress has been made, Binder replied: ‘The first difference that stood out to me was that they really improved our engine braking. It was something we really needed to work on. It has much more consistency and it seems much easier to set up or change in the areas we want. So, that’s something I’m really happy with. The second area that we seem to have improved a bit is the turning and a bit of the rear contact. These are two areas that I really focused on, which I think will definitely help us throughout the season. But there is still some work to do in Qatar, for sure. We need to try to bring together all these little areas we found and when we do, we can really have a better idea of where we stand’.
