Yamaha Motor Co. announced management changes effective October 1. The former President, Yoshihiro Hidaka, was stabbed at home last September and requested to resign.
His roles, which also included those of Chief Executive Officer and Representative Director of the Company, were taken over on October 1 by Katsuaki Watanabe, who continues to serve as chairman and representative director.
Additionally, Motofumi Shitara was appointed as Executive Vice President and representative director, while also holding the position of Senior Executive Officer and Director.
With these changes, Yamaha is complying with Japanese laws regarding the stipulated number of directors, despite not hiring any external individuals.
