Despite the fluctuations he experienced in 2023, Miguel Oliveira has a track record that allows him to be well-regarded throughout the circuit. At the end of last season, his name was linked to other teams. Something that makes him happy, but at the same time, focused on the task he has with Trackhouse.
‘Starting a new project cycle and being happy to be with Aprilia and seeing the confidence they have in me and all the effort they put into producing new parts and a completely new factory bike for me, it makes me very confident and right now I am focused on repaying all that trust to Aprilia in results,’ he highlighted to Sport TV.
Of the 22 riders who will participate in the next edition of the World Championship in the premier class, 18 will end their contracts at the end of this season, including the Portuguese rider. Therefore, the transfer market will be quite lively in the coming months.
‘Regarding the future, I am open to KTM, but also to all other manufacturers. I have naturally been approached by almost all of them, so they know my worth and I know that I can achieve good results if I have all the material at my disposal. That’s what I’m going to try to do, the rest I’ll let things happen naturally. I think that’s the best way to do it. Luckily, and also because of my professional conduct, I have always left all the teams I’ve worked with a very good relationship and a good impression, so I have no doubt that I will be an appreciated rider by any team in the paddock,’ he observed.
It is very enticing to be in a factory team for all the reasons, in terms of image, being very close to the development and the new parts that come from the bike. I believe that in this format that Aprilia is creating with Trackhouse, it is very interesting. So, I want to see how things will unfold, but I am very optimistic about this project. So, let things happen naturally, understand the potential of this team and if I will have better conditions and weapons in an official team, that is what we will have to discover this season, but for now my focus is on the results, being physically well and having all the material available to do it’, he added.
