Miguel Oliveira presented progress in the final stretch of MotoGP tests in Losail – which concluded the pre-season on track before the start of the championship at the same circuit in about two and a half weeks.
After many difficulties to leave the bottom of the table since yesterday, the Portuguese from Trackhouse Racing seems to have found something to be faster with the 2024 Aprilia RS-GP: in the last hour, he made a considerable jump in the standings to finish 12th, 0.884s behind the leader, Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati). His best time after 65 laps was 1m51.836s.
Despite the apparent improvements – which we can only confirm with the rider’s statements at the end of the day – Oliveira still remained behind the other Aprilias: the first one ahead of him was Maverick Viñales, in sixth place, more than four tenths away. As for his teammate at Trackhouse, Raúl Fernández, he was fifth, almost half a second behind.
