This winter, Marc Márquez underwent surgery on his right arm – greatly affected by the injury suffered in 2020 – in order to solve a problem of compartmental syndrome that is becoming increasingly common in MotoGP.
Despite the operation he underwent, the Gresini Spaniard had no physical problems in the pre-season tests. Márquez was asked about his physical condition and assured that everything is fine:
–During the break, I worked well. I had the small surgery for compartmental syndrome that several riders have. The arm is working well. That’s why I was planning to do a longer series, 18/20 laps, on Tuesday. There was a red flag halfway through that affected a bit because we stopped and started again. But, besides the arm, which is my surgery arm, I need to be more careful than with the other one. But if I’m careful, it’s working well. As you can see, my pre-season in Malaysia and Qatar was normal. And when you plan to do a long series of 20 laps on the last day of pre-season, it’s because you feel good.
