The Qatar GP was a good memory for Fabio Di Giannantonio, with the rider making his MotoGP debut last year after finishing second in the long race, and it seems that this year’s race promises, judging by the confidence shown by the 25-year-old Italian.
DiGia considered the days of work in Losail to be good, but admitted that at the moment he lacks a few tenths to be even better in attacking times, with that being, he believes, a flaw on his side: ‘They were two good test days. The second day was a little tougher than the first because in the morning I didn’t have the same sensations I had with the bike I had the day before. The track was lacking grip and I had some difficulties to get into the rhythm but then we found a good balance with the bike, improved, and I am very happy with what we did during the day. We lacked a few tenths in attacking times, we are a little far there and we have to improve but I think it’s more on my side’.
Despite that, DiGia, who is riding with the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team this year, is confident in his moment and believes he is currently among the top five most times: ‘Still, in the Sprint simulation, I believe we are one of the fastest and I think we can currently be in the top five, so it seems to me that we did a good job’.
