The new Michelin front tyre that MotoGP riders tested during the Misano test has garnered mixed opinions. For some, it represents an encouraging change, while others are less convinced.
Raúl Fernández had a positive impression of the tyre. The Trackhouse Racing rider noted that, although it required a different mindset, he was still fast:
– I like it. I don’t know what the rest of the riders said, but for me it’s a little bit… it’s a different mentality, but I was fast, the pace was good. I did 1m31s with the medium rear.
When asked what he liked most about the tyre, Fernández replied: ‘The grip. It’s a little bit difficult to change direction, for me the bike is a little bit heavier, but I like the grip; I can brake very, very hard’.
