Miguel Oliveira is being touted as the main target of Pramac Racing, starting from 2025 as a Yamaha satellite team, but he has not yet officially signed a contract with Paolo Campinoti’s team. Sylvain Guintoli is among those who see the Portuguese as a ‘great choice’ for the Italian structure.
The former Suzuki MotoGP test rider, currently a commentator on TNT Sports, believes that the current Trackhouse Racing rider could be a good bet for Yamaha, stating: ‘Miguel Oliveira, in my opinion, is a great choice. He is an interesting rider and it would make a lot of sense for them.’
With all the rumors talking about many possible riders who could sign with the team – Tony Arbolino, Alonso López – both from Moto2, with the latter already being targeted by Lin Jarvis’ advertising, and not forgetting some more experienced riders like Jack Miller, Guintoli believes that hiring such inexperienced riders would be a surprise:
– If they opt for a younger rider, it’s a bit surprising. There are other guys out there that they would be considering.
Furthermore, not long ago, Fabio Quartararo revealed that he also hinted that Yamaha would be betting on Sergio García, saying that he could be an excellent rider for the manufacturer.
Whoever is chosen, according to the available information, should have an official Yamaha M1 at their disposal.
