Marc Márquez remains the number one among the riders who are racing with the Ducati Desmosedici GP23 this year and said in Silverstone that the updated bikes can take better advantage of the new tires. Confronted with these statements, Fabio Di Giannantonio had no doubts in agreeing with the Gresini Racing rider.
‘Yes, yes, it’s 100% true but it has been like this the whole year. This bike, with the new tire, has this strength at the entrance of the corners that makes it difficult to catch the line in a tight way’, Di Giannantonio began to say to the journalists present in Silverstone, before emphasizing this difference and clarifying that, on track – without considering the technical part – that is possibly the biggest difference between the previous version and the one he rides:
– With this new tire it is even more difficult for us and the 2024 bike benefits more in this aspect and it is thus more difficult for us, that is the difference, in terms of what is felt on track. Technically, I don’t know what the difference is, but it is the biggest difference compared to us.
The Italian should be the only one in 2025, besides the factory riders – precisely Marc Márquez and Pecco Bagnaia – to have at his disposal the latest version of the GP.
