Susana Forte, the first Portuguese person and woman to join “Moto for Peace,” recently completed an impressive solidarity journey of 11,000 km through South America. The expedition, which took place between October 2 and December 6, 2023, took her through Uruguay, Argentina, Bolivia, and Chile.
“Moto for Peace,” a non-governmental organization with over two decades of history, uses motorcycle expeditions to promote humanitarian actions globally. Susana not only became the first Portuguese to participate but also the first woman to join this noble cause.
For this adventure, Susana had the support of Suzuki Portugal, which assisted in preparing her faithful travel companion: a Suzuki V-Strom 650 with over 15 years on the road. Despite its age, the motorcycle proved to be incredibly reliable, bravely facing the various challenges of the journey.
‘The V-Strom was my motorcycle of choice to travel the world. My dancer who dances to the ‘sound’ of the wind and the various roads we encounter, never letting me down!’ shared Susana, who then added:
– When we venture into trails, troubles usually occur. With the V-Strom, I always had the certainty that it would never let me down and that it would bring me home, whole!
